Years ago I ran a comic called Whispered Apologies that worked like this: authors would submit art with empty voice bubbles in them, and writers would fill in the words. When people ask why it ended, I say that it was a lot of fun and I’d like to revisit it sometime!
Enter Ryan Estrada!
Ryan Estrada (who I will refer henceforth as Other Ryan) took the concept (with permission, not that he needed it!) and BLEW IT UP and the result is The Whole Story. South Korean artist Nam Dong Yoon had produced a bunch of awesome, visually-striking comics, and wanted something more interesting done with them than just a straight translation into English. Other Ryan invited a bunch of us choose one of the comics to write our OWN stories with, working with the visuals already there!

Today is the final last and forever day to get your hands on a physical handmade zine of the Shrekless Abandon book we did. The preorders are ending at 11:59pm EST FRIDAY june 22 and then we’ll shut it off and print up all that has been sold and send those out. You can still read it online and donate for a PDF, but no more zines will be made of it til we do our NEXT one.

fuck me i remember bein obsessed w rpg world and loving it just totally and tryin to draw like him cos i loved how stylized his people were
and fuck if im not wearin onea my stubble shirts rn (another comic that iw as HUGELY fuckin into for years and years that finally ended, same era as rpg world and similar circles bein run in though i think less popular overall which was a shame cos it was fun as heck)
